Procedures

RULES

  1. Keep conversations appropriate! If you wouldn't discuss something with your students at school, do not discuss it in your letters.

  2. Do not give students private information such as your address, phone number, social media, etc. Do not ask students for their private info. You should not be in contact with your student beyond the scope of Fun Writing!

  3. You are welcome to include extra goodies (origami, pictures, holiday cards, etc.) for your students, but please refrain from sending items like food or candy.

  4. Please aim to send in your student responses within one week of receiving your email with the scanned version.  

  5. When in doubt, email akitaprefboe@gmail.com!

  • The BOE receives your student's letter, scans it, and emails it to you.

  • Once or twice a week, the BOE mails the physical letter and return envelopes to you.

  • You mail your response letter back to the BOE and the BOE sends it to your student.

  • Towards the end of the term, you will receive a reminder email to begin wrapping up your conversations and prepare goodbye letters.

  • After the term ends, there will be a short feedback form for you to fill out.
